Statement on Governor Polis’ Proposed 2019-2020 Budget

Following the release of Colorado Governor Jared Polis’ proposed budget for FY2019-2020, Principles That Matter Executive Director Allen Fuller released the following statement:

“Governor Polis has outlined several proposals that his administration believes are solutions to issues facing Colorado families, communities, and our economy. It will be up to the legislature to decide if they are, in fact, proposals that work.

“As the legislature considers the top priorities within this $33.7 billion budget — roughly $6,000 from the pockets of every man, woman and child in the state — we hope they will consider the ramifications of increased regulations and mandates that could undermine Colorado’s unique success, decrease innovation in health care, and create additional burdens facing Colorado families due to Obamacare.”
